Our mission is to advance the value of music study by providing students of all ages and abilities with a rewarding educational experience that will last a lifetime.
Company Profile
The Music Studio is a private teaching facility for independent master teachers of piano, voice, guitar, and symphonic instruments.
Our trademark is our unique private lesson structure, which combines the traditional applied lesson with the latest technology available in the music industry. Each weekly lesson includes quality one-on-one time with an Instructor, plus additional "lab" time where Students study music theory, ear training, sight reading, composition and music history. Weekly lessons are one full hour each week to thoroughly cover all aspects of music study.
Through over 15 years of experience, we know that a well-rounded lesson program -- one with consistent inclusion of theory, ear training, sight reading, composition and history -- provides students with a more thorough understanding of the music they are playing and therefore a more rewarding experience. Our program provides this insight into the building blocks of music and encourages practical skills that make our students successful sight readers, practicers and performers.

We offer private instruction in Piano, Voice, Harp, Guitar, Strings (Violin, Viola, Cello) and Wind Instruments (Clarinet, Saxophone, Flute, Bassoon). All Students have the opportunity to participate in Recitals, Festivals, local performance events and the National Piano Guild Auditions. Additional ensemble and competitive performance opportunities are available to interested students. Our instructors also offer specialized training toward college entrance auditions as well as annual county and regional competitions.
Group instruction is available at various times during the year in Beginning Piano and Beginning Voice. Our Summer Programs include String Chamber Orchestra (ongoing), Beginning Piano, Group Voice, Piano Academy (for current students) and a Music "Sampler" of all the instruments.
We offer Recreational Music Classes to Adults that focus on stress relief and the sheer enjoyment of playing the music you love -- and with no prior musical experience required.
But why take lessons with us? Among many things, we pride ourselves on our tuition pricing -- reasonable rates that include not only your weekly instruction, but group lessons, rehearsals, formal catered recitals, theory and piano lab -- in one monthly payment. We don't nickel-and-dime our clients with small fees for "extras".
Our String Chamber Orchestra is open to all interested students, as well as non-students, ages 12 and over, members of the community and area teachers who have had at least one year of prior playing experience.
We also offer lesson Hosting. for piano and strings as a solution to students who would like lessons, but are out-of-area or cannot travel to our studio.
Location & Hours
We are located at 292 Garrisonville Road, Suite 301, Stafford, VA 22554. Our primary teaching hours are Monday through Friday 4:00 - 8:00pm and Saturday 9:00am - 12:00pm, although we do offer private lessons and classes during the school day and Sundays upon request. Visitors are welcome, but because we are only open when we are teaching, it is best to call ahead 540.659.0506 and make sure the studio is open. We are also glad to make a personal appointment at your convenience for you to meet us and tour the studio.
