Music literacy. Through a complete, comprehensive program, we strive to ensure our students learn the skills necessary to read and play music fluently that they will become accomplished, independent musicians.
Company Profile
The Music Studio is a private teaching facility for independent master teachers of piano, voice, guitar, and symphonic instruments.
Our trademark is our unique private lesson structure, which combines the traditional applied lesson with the latest technology available in the music industry. Each weekly lesson includes quality one-on-one time with an Instructor, plus additional "lab" time where Students study music theory, ear training, sight reading, composition and music history.
Through over 15 years of experience, we know that a well-rounded lesson program -- one with consistent inclusion of theory, ear training, sight reading, composition and history -- provides students with a more thorough understanding of the music they are playing and therefore a more rewarding experience. Our program provides this insight into the building blocks of music and encourages practical skills that make our students successful sight readers, practicers and performers.

We offer private instruction in Piano, Voice, Harp, Guitar, Strings, Brass and Wind Instruments. Students may enroll to study a single instrument and theory, or two instruments and theory (our unique "Take Two!" Lesson).
All Students have the opportunity to participate in Recitals, Festivals, local performance events and the National Piano Guild Auditions. Additional ensemble and competitive performance opportunities are available to interested students. Our instructors also offer specialized training toward college entrance auditions as well as annual county and regional competitions.
Small Group instruction is available during the year in Beginning Piano, with classes for children and Adults.
Our String Chamber Orchestra is open to all interested students (ages 14 to Adult), as well as non-students, members of the community and area teachers who have had at least one year of prior playing experience.
Location & Hours
We are located at 292 Garrisonville Road, Suite 301, Stafford, VA 22554. Our primary teaching hours are Monday through Friday 4:00 - 8:00pm and Saturday 9:00am - 12:00pm, although we do offer private lessons and classes during the school day and Sundays upon request. Visitors are welcome, but because we are only open when we are teaching, it is best to call ahead 540.659.0506 and make sure the studio is open. We are also glad to make a personal appointment at your convenience for you to meet us and tour the studio.
