Make-Up Lesson Policy
We know that life happens — illness, travel, family emergencies. Our make-up system exists to help students stay on track when unexpected things come up. But here's the honest truth: consistent attendance is what drives real progress. Make-ups are a courtesy we offer, not a replacement for showing up regularly.
How Make-Ups Work
When you need to cancel a lesson, please give us 24 hours advance notice by email or phone. This helps us keep our schedule tight and respect other families' time.
If you cancel with 24 hours notice, you're welcome to schedule a make-up anytime during the year through our online calendar. Availability opens up regularly as families reschedule, so check back often — new slots appear frequently, including last-minute openings.
Important Notes
Your tuition account must be current to schedule make-ups. Make-ups are not owed, and missed lessons are not refundable. Monthly tuition is not prorated for lessons missed by students. It's your responsibility to track and schedule any make-ups you've earned.
For siblings: The majority of make-up openings are single-student slots. If you have multiple students or instruments and can't find a time that works for everyone together, email us at [email protected] and we'll do our best to help coordinate — but scheduling separately is often the most realistic option.
For Voice, Harp, and Private Lesson Students
While we don't offer private one-on-one make-ups for harp or voice lessons, we do offer a valuable alternative: Voice and Harp students are invited to attend a make-up session in one of our Accelerated Piano Classes.
Why piano? Because it's one of the best tools for developing music literacy, sight-reading, and theory understanding — skills that benefit all musicians, including singers and harpists. No piano experience (or piano at home) is needed. Students will be guided in class and we have plenty of books available for use during the session.
These make-ups are a great way to stay engaged and build musical breadth between regular lessons.
