The North Central Virginia Junior & Senior Regional Orchestra is a yearly competitive performance opportunity open to music students in grades 7-12, from Spotsylvania, Loudon, Fauqier, Prince William, and Stafford counties, as well as Manasas and Fredericksburg City school districts. Ensemble membership is determined by an audition in September, and the orchestra performs one concert in November. Grades 7 - 9 may audition to participate in the "Junior" Orchestra; grades 9 - 12 may audition to participate in the "Senior" Orchestra.
The orchestra is led by a different guest conductor each year with a variety of repertoire.
Students selected for the Senior Regional Orchestra are eligible to audition for a seat in the All-Virginia Orchestra auditions.
