Piano Lives

The notes

Rushing through my fingers sign and scream all at once

To let their voices be heard

The rhythm is unstoppable, the beat is incredible

All the keys are jumping as my fingers dance and play

Harmony and Melody make the sounds feel like conversation

Of two old friends now reunited

The keys must be alive, for they all are speaking

An eloquent language filled with rhythm and beat

A new surge of notes pounds their sound through my hands

And into the heart and soul of all those who hear it

These spectacular notes are sung sweetly by their friend

The Piano

That is busting with beat; that is as striking as lightning

Yet the notes are soothing waves of peace and beauty

They shall never die

For once you hear the yells, the cries, the laughs, that belong

Through our fingers, through the keys, through the pianos

And into the Earth and Heavens, you can never let them go,

because
