| Private Instruction Programs & Rates
Beginning Piano Group Lessons coming this Summer! Part of what makes the lesson experience at The Music Studio unlike any in our area is the inclusion of a structured music theory program with each weekly lesson -- ages 8 and older are offered one full hour weekly. Our 20 years of teaching and performing experience tell us that consistent theory study helps students acquire stronger and faster reading and memorization skills, as well as a more thorough appreciation and understanding of the music they play. The theory portion of the lesson covers the following: music form and analysis, notation and terminology, harmony, ear training, sight reading, music history, applied scales/cadences/arpeggios, elementary composition, and recording & accompaniment. Because all our theory programs have extensive record-keeping and progress reports, Students may work independently in the theory lab and progress at their own pace, rather than at the pace of a class. All our lesson programs provide this benefit to you. Currently, we have openings in the following instruments: Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello, String Bass, Harp, Voice, Mandolin, Woodwinds We have waiting lists for the following instruments: Brass (saxophone, trumpet, trombone, tuba, euphonium), Banjo Tuition Rates: The One-Hour Lesson - Tuition price includes one hour weekly studio time with theory lab, applicable ensembles and recitals. Year-Round Lessons: $167.00 per month (September - August, 12 months) School Year Lessons: $213.00 per month (September - May, 9 months) The Half-Hour Lesson - Tuition price includes one half-hour of studio time weekly, plus recitals. Year-Round Lessons: $125.00 per month (September - August, 12 months)
