SUCCESS GUIDE

What's a lesson like?
Take the mystery and anxiety out of starting lessons for the first time. Here's a glimpse into what goes on during a typical lesson, and how to take the next step.
LESSON GLIMPSE

Whether you're interested in learning Piano, Guitar, Flute, Violin, Viola, or Cello....our formula for student success (and the secret to getting really, really good!) is in a solid music foundation, lesson design, and restructure, that addresses the limitations and issues within the "traditional private 30-minute lesson" -- such as lesson length, nerves, unsupervised practice, lack of mastery, under-developed sight reading skills, under-developed performance skills and anxiety...and, most of all the foundation upon which all other music skills happen.  We focus on building confidence and independence, superior reading and practice skills, and making sure our students LOVE what they're accomplishing.
But, there's even more to our formula!  We also want PARENTS to feel and enjoy some "Lesson Success"...so we make sure students have conquered any musical and practice issues during their lesson so playing at home is actually FUN -- never a chore, and never a battle!

At The Music Studio, THE LESSON INCLUDES THE PRACTICE,
so students can PLAY, PERFORM, and HAVE FUN at home.
  •  We offer Piano, Guitar, Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Woodwinds & Brass (we currently have limited availability for stringed and band instruments)
  • For beginning through advanced levels, ages 5 to Adult (for Guitar, ages 7 and older)
  • Longer, 60-minute weekly lessons
  • Practice is built into the lesson to eliminate practice problems and struggling at home
  • Students move through their lesson books in half the time they would with traditional private instruction
  • Sight reading becomes easy
  • Home practice becomes "rehearsal", with students encouraged to review and play for family & friends

Our program is easy to join, flexible scheduling
There is no long-term commitment; lessons continue on a month-to-month basis.  And, students may begin at any time during the year.  Groups are casual and small (typically 4 - 6 students), and progress quickly in a fun, relaxed learning environment.  The classes are a dynamic mix of levels, and include new beginners, as well as more experienced players.  There is ample opportunity and encouragement for students to ask questions and review concepts during each class due to the longer lesson length (60 minutes weekly).  Students have the additional option of attending on a different day should they have a schedule conflict.  Instruments offered: Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello, Brass Instruments, Woodwind Instruments.

Yes, we have lots of Adult students, too!
"I’ve always wanted to learn piano and when I saw that The Music Studio offers a class for adults, I jumped at the opportunity! The class is slow paced, the instructors are amazing and what I love most is it’s so affordable.  I receive one hour, weekly lessons for an amazing rate.  As a parent of 3 with other responsibilities it really is unbeatable! You get so much for the money."
- Rosalyn (March 2021)

We offer instruction to Adults, ages 18 & older, beginning through advanced levels, and have lots of adult students.  Groups are casual and small (typically 4 - 6 students), and we welcome brand new beginners, as well as more experienced players, or those who want to brush up on their skills.  Students use headphones so there's no pressure to play in front of others and everyone can learn privately at their own pace with a teacher.

Virtual (online) Lessons

For current and new students who prefer the convenience of learning an instrument within the comfort of their own home, we also offer virtual instruction.  Our online Virtual Lesson program is structured exactly like our in-studio lessons (60 minutes weekly), and is available for all instruments.

The Benefits of Music Lessons Last a Lifetime
Music Lessons can provide more than music literacy - they increase focus, help with coordination and fine motor skills, and build confidence.  Kids who study music also learn patience, time management, how to listen, important organization and study skills, and how to accomplish goals.
We'd love to show you how our Accelerated Program can help you play better and faster than traditional lessons!
For Piano tryouts, we recommend students be age 6 or older. For Strings, Guitar, and Band instrument tryouts, we recommend students be age 7 or older.
