A 5-week course aimed to help you ace your Junior & Senior Regional Orchestra Audition. Would you like to be the most prepared student at the audition this year? The one the judges put first on their list? We'll cover everything you need to feel confident, play great, and make the cut on audition day.
Who can sign up?
Ages 10 and older are welcome to enroll, as we'll be focusing on valuable learning and playing skills that will benefit any student. However, we'll be working specifically on elements necessary for a successful Regionals audition, so highly recommend this course to students in grades 7 - 12. We also recommend our Prep Course to students considering auditioning for All County Orchestra in the near future.
What we do.
A pre-class packet of materials so you can get a head start prior to class
Personal instruction on the required audition elements: performance excerpts, scales, and sightreading
In-depth technique practice and drills to make playing easy and fluid
Learn (and practice) the secret to being an amazing sightreader
Play your required scales like a virtuoso
Performance Skills, conquering nerves - we'll make sure you're ready and confident
Mock Auditions, what to expect
Plus, a checklist of everything you'll need to be the most prepared student on audition day!
This isn't a crash course.
No learning by ear or rote. No shortcuts. To make the cut, we'll be taking a very in-depth look at the repertoire you'll need, and working those scales to perfection. Expect A LOT of sightreading. But, by the end of our sessions, you'll own the music!
